Calciavis s a extinct Genus of bird related to ostriches and kiwis.
Facts[]
Unlike Ostriches that lived in Africa, and Kiwis that lived in New Zealand, Calciavis lived in North America 50 million years ago which is after the Non-avian dinosaurs which died out 65 million years ago. It's name means hard or stone Bird. It was the earliest member of the ostrich family. Although Ornithomimosauria family lived since during the Early Cretaceous, the did not actually belong to the ostrich family.

Calciavis was believed to belong to the Struthionidae which includes emus, kiwis, ostriches, and the extinct Genus Palaeotis.
