Gualicho shinyae is an extinct genus of theropod dinosaur that lived in Patagonia during the Late Cretaceous period.
Classification[]
Gualicho was said to be a possible relative to Neovenator from Europe. It includes the single species G.shinyae. It lived in the Huincul Formation along with Giganotosaurus, and Mapusaurus. It's closest relative is Deltadromeus a type of Carnosaur. And because of this, Deltadromeus a possibly a carnosaur and not even a ceratosaur as originally thought, although this could have also meant the Neovenatoridae were more related to the Coelurosauria than the Carnosauria. However more recent studies showed it was possibly the same Animal as Aoniraptor a type of Neovenatorid.
