Class: Cephalopoda
Subclass: Coleoidea
Superorder: Belemnoidea
Order: Belemnitida
Suborder: Belemnitina
Family: Hastitidae

The Hastitidae is a family of belemnites, species of which, distributed among some five genera, were alive during the Jurassic. Hastitids are characterized overall by elongate rostra (pleural of rostrum) also known as guards, that project to the rear and join forward with the phragmocone (the chambered portion of the internal shell). Hastitid rostra tend to the widest aft of the middle and slim down toward the front. The rostrum is most often all that remains in the fossil record and so is diagnostic for both genera and species.

Among the genera included in the Hastitidae are Hastites, the type genus, along with Bairstowius, Pleurobelus, Rhabdobelus, and Subhastites.

Also included in the Belemnitina, Passaloteuthididae, Salpingoteuthididae, Cylindroteuthididae, and Oxyteuthididae.
