Hemipristis serra teeth from the Belgrade formation range in the size from the smallest juveniles to full grown adults. Adult teeth are essentially identical to H. serra from the Miocene and Pliocene except they do not grow as large. Juvenile teeth are very much like the Eocene H. curvatus in that they are either partially serrate or lack serrations on the medial edge.
