Machairodontini was a clade of large saber-toothed cats of the subfamily Machairodontinae, that lived in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America during the Miocene through Pleistocene living from 11.6 Ma—11,000 years ago.[1]
Taxonomy[]
Machairodontini was named by Gill (1872) as well as Beaumont (1964). It was assigned to Machairodontinae by Berta and Galiano (1983).[2]
