The Ophidioceratidae is a nautiloid family from the upper Silurian established for the genus Ophioceras included in the Tarphycerida. Shells are coiled and strongly ribbed, but only slightly impressed, the mature body chamber divergent. The siphuncle is subcentral, connecting rings thin. The fully mature aperture has a deep hyponomic and a pair of occular sinuses.
