Ophthalmosauridae were a family of ichthyosaurs that lived from the Jurassic to the Cretaceous period.
Within Ophthalmosauridae there are two lineages, one including Aegirosaurus and Ophthalmosaurus, and the other including Brachypterygius, Caypullisaurus and Platypterygius.[1]
