Paleontology of Pakistan

Pakistan is a country known for its fossil sites. Here listed are recently discovered fossils of dinosaurs, mesoeucrocodiles, pterosaurs, snake, bird and mammals from the terrestrial latest Maastrichtian Vitakri Formation of Pakistan (Malkani, 2024, 2023a,b, 2022, 2021a,b, 2019), fishes from marine Cambrian Abbottabad dolomite, from coastal Late Cretaceous Pab Sandstone and marine or terrestrial strata (Malkani, 2021b, 2019), small to largest land and marine mammals, riverine crocodile and proboscidean, marine plesiosaur, marine and land fresh water invertebrates from Tertiary strata of Pakistan and a wood fossil from Maastrichtian Dhaola Member of Pab Formation of Pakistan (Malkani, 2021b, 2019). Further many footprints/trackways of dinosaurs and pterosaur from the Mesozoic of Pakistan were also discovered (Malkani, 2021b, 2019) and listed below. The fossils from Precambrian, Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic era were reported from Pakistan . The fossils of flora and fauna were reported from Pakistan. The fossils of fauna such as invertebrates and vertebrates were reported. Among these the fossils of fishes, reptiles, mammals and birds were recently reported. Recently the fossils bones and footprints/trackways of dinosaurs were discovered by M. Sadiq Malkani of Geological Survey of Pakistan. In Pakistan the small, medium and large sized dinosaurs were reported. Among these the slender and stocky, herbivorous and carnivorous dinosaurs were discovered.
