South America is the southern continent of the Americas,[1] situated entirely in the Western Hemisphere and mostly in the Southern Hemisphere, with a relatively small portion in the Northern Hemisphere. It is known for its productive fossil sites, especially in Peru and Argentina.
When South America was an island, 65 million years ago-2 mya, many strange and wonderful beasts roam. Indcluding killer birds and animals in their own catagories.[citation needed]
