Squaloraja is a genus of fish in the extinct Squalorajidae family[1] thought to be an ancestor of the shark and the ray. It lived during the Jurassic Period, approximately 190 Ma. The holotype was discovered in 1829 by amateur fossil hunter Marry Anning.[2]
